Sorghum Shed Demolition
Focus Demolition will be mobilising to Port of Broome, from Monday 8 December 8 2025, to commence demolition of the Sorghum Shed.
Little traffic disruption is expected throughout the works, though there may be single lane closures on Kabbarli Road – the Entrance Point access road, from time to time to ensure for safety.
The structure will be dismantled from the top down, and all usable steel will be recycled. The shed will be removed from site, and remaining below-ground works are planned for completion after Christmas.
The shed removal will make way for the commencement of the First Point of Entry works in 2026, so that inspection, quarantine and washdown facilities can be constructed for direct overseas cargo importation into Broome.
