Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP)

KPA has submitted its first Reconciliation Action Plan to Reconciliation Australia for review. KPA’s Innovate RAP was developed by the Reconciliation Action Plan Working Group. Reconciliation Action Plans focus on three key concepts:

KPA’s Innovate Plan spans two years, and after approval, actions will commence from July 2026 and progress will be published.

An Innovate RAP focuses on:

  • Developing new and strengthening existing relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples; 
  • Engaging staff and stakeholders in reconciliation, and
  • Developing and piloting innovative strategies to empower Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

Conservation – Yawuru Nagulagun / Roebuck Bay Marine Park

The Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions (DBCA) and KPA have a Memorandum of Agreement regarding liaison on transboundary issues that can arise managing park waters adjacent to port waters. 

KPA works collaboratively with DBCA and Yawuru Park Rangers to support Yawuru Nagulagun / Roebuck Bay Marine Park management aspirations for the park.
