Ports across the Kimberley have been busy servicing 799 vessels for the six months from 1 July until 31 December 2025. An impressive 3,064,781 tonnes of cargo have been imported and exported from Broome, Wyndham, Derby and Yampi Sound for the same period.
Export cargo types range from live cattle, iron ore, mineral sands, agricultural products including cotton, while imports mostly consist of fuel and fertiliser. The ports service the oil and gas industry, cruise, charter, fishing, pearling, government vessels along with barramundi farm operations.
