Kimberley Ports Authority welcomes our new Chair Mellisa Teede

Kimberley Ports Authority welcomes our new Chair Mellisa Teede, appointed by the Hon Stephen Dawson, Minister for Ports to the position from 1 July 2026. Mellisa was previously a Director on the KPA Board and is our first female Chair.

Mellisa brings over 30 years of public sector experience dedicated to driving transformative change in Western Australia’s regional communities.

Mellisa background includes serving as Managing Director of the Goldfields Institute of Technology and CEO at both the South West and Peel Development Commissions, spearheading workforce and economic development initiatives to assist communities during economic transitions.

Mellisa stated, “I’m honoured to have been given the opportunity to contribute to positioning KPA to meet future demands of industry and our communities. The Kimberley ports are central to the growth and prosperity of the region. I look forward to working with my board colleagues, along-with Luke and his team, to facilitate trade and tourism opportunities.”
