Tug Services
KPA has licenced towage service providers at the Ports of Broome, Wyndham and Yampi Sound.
- At the Port of Broome, the licenced service provider is Broome Marine and Towage.
- At the Port of Wyndham, the licenced service provider is Engage Marine.
- At the Port of Yampi Sound the licensed service provider is Svitzer.
Tugs must be employed as per requirements in the Port Handbook at each port.

Pilotage
There are contracted Pilotage services at all KPA ports.
All KPA Ports operate on a 24-hour basis. Pilotage is compulsory for all vessels of 35m LOA or more unless exempt under the provisions of the WA Port Authorities Act 1999 or under a valid exemption certificate issued by KPA.
Pilot boarding positions are indicated in respective port handbooks and approved nautical charts.
The pilot boards by pilot launch and vessels are to provide an adequate lee for safe boarding. IMO guidelines for the rigging of pilot ladders, manropes and lighting arrangements are to be strictly adhered to.
